The driving force behind my instrument making are an improvisatory practice and a surrealist attitude: creating poetic, material interfaces for exploration and , including found objects from streets and flee markets, which become actors in a musicla object threatre.
A second life, like a dream.
I play with my eyes and listen with my hands.
Instruments
Whalefish: a soundboard with a contact mike, constructions of wood, metal and strings, used together with a large number of sound objects and tools.
Metal Harp: triangular iron plates welded around a copper tube.
Brillolin: empty goggles with two strings connected to a miniature violin with protruding wood- and metal pieces and a contact mike inside it.
Stringed Stirrups: two piano strings hanging from the ceiling, attach to a resonance board with a contact mike, and ending in horse stirrups. The musician stands in the stirrups, is strapped to the board and plays the strings hanging in the air.
No pre-determined compositions, samples, loops or overdubs were used in the making of this cd.
